• Selfie: Take selfie shots and apply various effects, such as an airbrushed effect.
• Wide selfie: Take wide-angle selfie shots to fit more people into your pictures.

How to Create Slow Motion Video on Galax S8

You can record a video for viewing it in slow motion. You can specify sections of your videos to be played in slow motion by follow this tutorial:
1 On the shooting modes list, tap Slow motion.

2 Tap to start recording.

  • Save pictures as previewed: Save the self‑portrait or self‑recording as viewed on the camera screen, not as flipped images.
  • Shooting methods:
    • Tap screen: Tap the screen to take selfies.
    • Show palm: Hold your hand out with your palm facing the camera to have your picture taken in a few seconds.
    • Tap heart rate sensor: Once your face has been recognized, tap the heart rate sensor to take a selfie.
  • Timer: Take time-delayed pictures or videos.

You can apply a unique effect on Galaxy S8 Active to your videos or photos.

1. On the preview screen, swipe to the left to open the list of filters and other effects.

2. After selecting a filter or effect, tap the preview screen and take a record a video.

3. To remove the applied filter or effect, open the filters and effects list and tap Remove effect.

  • Motion photo: Create a short video by taking pictures.
  • Video stabilization: Activate anti-shake. Anti‑shake helps to keep the focus steady when the camera is moving.
  • Grid lines: Display viewfinder grid lines to help composition when selecting subjects.
  • Location tags: Attach a GPS location tag to the picture.
  • Review pictures: Set to show pictures after taking them.
  • Quick launch: Open camera by pressing the Power key twice in quick succession.
  • Storage location: Select the memory location for storage.
    • To view Storage location, a memory card must be installed. For more information, see “Install the SIM Card and a Memory Card” on page 5.
  • Voice control: Take pictures by saying “Smile,” “Cheese,” “Capture,” or “Shoot,” or record videos by saying “Record video.”
  • Floating Camera button: Add an extra camera button that you can move anywhere on the screen in Auto and Selfie modes.
  • Volume key function: Use the Volume key to take pictures, record video, zoom, or control system volume.
  • Shutter sound: Play a tone when you take a picture.
  • Reset settings: Reset the camera settings.
Viewing videos

1 Launch the Gallery app and tap PICTURES.
2 Select a video to play. Video files show the icon on the preview thumbnail.

Drag your finger up or down on the left side of the playback screen to adjust the brightness,
or drag your finger up or down on the right side of the playback screen to adjust the volume.

To rewind or fast-forward, swipe to the left or right on the playback screen.

Deleting Videos or Photo

Deleting an image or a video on Galaxy S8 Active:
Select an image or a video and tap Delete at the bottom of the screen.

Deleting multiple images and videos

1 On the Gallery screen, tap and hold an image or a video to delete.

2 Tick the images or videos to delete.

3 Tap DELETE.

Syncing images and videos with Samsung Cloud

You can sync images and videos saved in Gallery with Samsung Cloud and access them from
other devices. You must register and sign in to your Samsung account to use Samsung Cloud.
Refer to Samsung account for more information.

Launch the Gallery app, tap → Settings, and then tap the Samsung Cloud switch to
activate it. Images and videos captured on the device will be automatically saved to Samsung
Cloud.
